Steps to Filing your Homestead Exemption in Dallas County
Filing your homestated exemption on your property taxes is a great way to save some money on property taxes. You only have to file this form one time after you purchase a house. We hope this can be of some help for you.
Visit the Dallas Appraisal District website:
Click on search Appraisals.
Find your property by owner’s name, address or account number.
Click the BLUE property address link to view the details of your account.
Click on File Homestead Exemption Online.
Print Homestead Exemption Form
Follow the required steps, depending on the option your select or the one available to you.
Once you complete your Homestead Exemption, make sure it gets to the Dallas County Appraisal District (DCAD) as soon as possible, either by filing it electronically or by taking it to their offices at soon as you can. Remember, filing for your Homestead Exemption will save you money on property taxes.
